What I have learned so far is that in order to understand our relationship with others we must first acknowledge and accept our relationship with ourselves. When I think about acceptance I think about my thoughts. Do the thoughts I have feel good? If they don’t feel good, are they true, am I willing to sit with these thoughts and hold space for them? If they aren’t true then what thoughts can I have that do feel good? That is when I get quiet and I listen for the thought that feels good and believe that that thought is true. For example, the thought “I am trustworthy”, feels good so I choose to believe that I am trustworthy and in doing so, I feel good. Then, and this is important, no matter what else anyone says I trust that I am trust worthy because it is my divine right to feel good so I need to trust in my good thoughts. The Holistic Psychologist, Dr. Nicole LePera has graciously created and shared this 30 day journal to encourage a transformation of relationships. As we head into the holiday season the hustle and bustle can get the best of us. When I think of holiday memories as a young girl I remember time with my siblings putting on shows for our relatives, dancing with my sisters, reading late into the night by the light of the Santa in my window, creeping out of my room early on Christmas morning to see our tree glowing. All of these memories make me feel good which is my goal for this holiday season, not so much how things look but how they feel. I am committing to 30 days of journaling starting 11/20 and I am inviting you to do the same, see event details below, would love for you to join me.
