Bev Sartain, President of the Holistic Coach Training Institute shared the following: “The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. “
“A coaching philosophy is a coaching tool to help guide coaches in their process of coaching. Having a philosophy gives a coach clear guidance on the objectives that should be pursued and how to achieve them. While adhering to values, a coach can make consistent decisions and ask broader life coaching questions by sticking with their philosophy.” (Kelly Miller, Coaching Philosophy: What is It and How to Develop Your Own)
Coaching philosophy considerations:
My philosophy is that I see all clients as whole, complete and resourceful to find and create their own solutions to their current problems and desires. We do this through partnering up in a coaching partnership that supports you in finding your own awareness and insights on next steps. We utilize your identity, environment, experiences, values and beliefs to co-create your intentions.
Holistic philosophy
The American Holistic Health Association says: “Rather than focusing on illness or specific parts of the body, this ancient approach to health considers the whole person and how he or she interacts with his or her environment. It emphasizes the connection of mind, body, and spirit. The goal is to achieve maximum well-being, where everything is functioning the very best that is possible.”
